QUINCY -- A missing couple is back in Quincy after a search involving law enforcement agencies in Illinois and Missouri.
Michael and Mary Allen were found unharmed and in good condition in Macon, Mo.
The Adams County Sheriff's Department requested assistance in locating the Allens on Sunday morning. The Illinois State Police, at the request of the sheriff's department, activated an endangered missing person advisory alert with a physical description of the couple and information on the vehicle Michael Allen, 68, was driving. He has a medical condition that places him in danger.
Early Monday morning, the sheriff's department learned the Allens had been located by another law enforcement agency in Missouri. Through coordination with other agencies, the Allens were taken to a secure location until family members arrived and they were able to return home safely.
The Adams County Sheriff's Department thanks all who aided in the search by sharing the information on social media and the law enforcement agencies in Missouri for their assistance.
