QUINCY -- The Quincy Police Department is reminding residents of its Voluntary Camera Registration Program that allows residents and business owners to register the locations of their video surveillance systems with the department.
Through the program, officers can ask registrants to check their video surveillance system for a specific time and date that might show activity involved with a crime. Police personnel, if necessary, may request a copy of any video captured by the camera, which could assist in investigations.
Registration does not obligate residents to share or give any direct access to camera footage.
