MCKEE TOWNSHIP -- The bridge carrying East 2873rd Lane -- Siloam Springs Road -- over McKee Creek in eastern Adams will close next week for painting.
The bridge is about 2 miles south of Siloam Springs State Park, and immediately north of the intersection at North 800th Avenue and East 2873rd Lane.
The Adams County Highway Department said the blasting and painting of the bridge steel completes work that was started last year. the bridge was temporarily opened for traffic through the winter.
Installing scaffolding beneath the bridge will start Monday, and a full closing is anticipated by the end of next week. The bridge should reopened by the end of April depending on weather.
There will be no marked detour, so motorists are asked to consider alternate routes. Message boards are in place.
Freesen, a division of United Contractors Midwest Inc. of Springfield, is the contractor on the $593,000 project.
